Veteran MLB outfielder Bobby Abreu announces his retirement

The veteran major league outfielder who is admired by baseball fans around the world has announced this Friday that he is going to say goodbye to the game right after the 2014 season comes to an end. The Bobby Abreu said in a press conference that he is extremely thankful to all his supporters and fans who have helped him stay good in the game. He also thanked all his teammates and manager Terry Collins. He kept remembering Collins who was also his first manager when he debuted with the Astros back in the year 1996.
Bobby also showed contentment towards his career and said that he feels that he’s blessed. He also added that each and every one of us has some goals in life which we struggle for and for me, I have set my goals and I feel so blessed to have achieved them all. The great sportsman and baseball player Abreu also said that he would be retiring from the league with a heavy heart however he wants his fans to remember him always. Collins his ex-manager said that he knows Abreu since he was only eighteen years old. Collins also added that he has been around with a plethora of professionals in his career but there wasn’t anyone of Abreu’s caliber.
Another statement by the great Collins that impressed millions of baseball fans is that he said he is honored to be a part of Bobby Abreu’s career. The great sportsman would be retiring with an awesome career of two hundred and eighty eight homers and three hundred and ninety five on-base percentage. Moreover, ever a patient hitter, Abreu ranks first among active players and 20th all time in walks. The great player would be remembered for the game he has displayed to his fans across many years.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers' Shining Star Players



Major League Baseball games are one of the most awaited and heavily anticipated games that the passionate sports lovers look forward to enjoy. The season begins with Spring Trainings, then the tournament kicks off and in the mid-season; MLB All-Star games capture a great level of interest and attract huge number of audiences to the stadiums because All-Star Games feature players chosen by the judges and fans from both American League and National League.
Speaking of fan-favorites, among several other amazing, American baseball teams, Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the top professional teams from Los Angeles California, U.S. The renowned members of the National baseball league, West Division, the Los Angeles Dodgers were first recognized in Brooklyn, NY in 1883, where they were called as Dodgers. The Dodgers played their first four seasons at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum when they shifted to Los Angeles; however, later they moved back to their home stadium, which is the third oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.
The Dodgers have produced some extremely valuable players including Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Don Drysdale, Sandy Koufax, Orel Hershier and Kirk Gibson among a few other prominent baseball stars. They won their first title of World Series in 1955, defeating their rivals the New York Yankees. During the period of 1960s, the Dodgers yet again came through a spectacular win, adding two more World Series titles to their names, again beating their rivals the New York Yankees and having a winning streak, the Dodgers won 3 pennants in the 1970s.
The shining super star players in the team handed the Dodgers another World Series title in the 1980s. This year was known as the "Fernandomania" by the Dodger's fans because of their star player Fernando Valenzuela, who played an imp role with other prominent players, in bringing this great victor to Dodgers. Los Angeles Dodgers have a come a long way in building this strong reputation throughout their career watching their games and passion for victory, is an extremely thrilling, exciting and entertaining experience.

Breaking the confines that limited entertainment sources to indoor activities, the snowy winter is melting into sunny days, stirring the air with anticipation and calling out sports fans to enjoy the most exciting games of the year.
